All invitations from the studio are exclusive and are solely made by head designer Fiona and assistant Lee-Anne. They came full printed with your details on a hand-mounted inner sheet. All base cards come from Italy and have a beautiful hand-deckled edge on all sides. They are of a good weight and are a perfect ground to compliment the intricate textile designs that are the trademark of the Paper Blossom Studio. Owner and artist Fiona McCay exclusively design all collections.
We offer a highly bespoke stationery service and cater for the bride and groom who seek something truly individual.
All our stationery items and accessories can be ordered separately and in a selection of quantities, allowing you to chose all your requirements from one range or if you prefer, to mix and match.
Invitations come in 3 sizes with envelopes to match.
These can be sent to additional guests not present at the wedding ceremony to invite them to the evening's celebrations. They should be sent out at the same time as the day invites.

The second portrait size is commonly known as the large invitation. It measures 151mm width x 200mm height.
The larger invitations often lend themselves to certain designs. For example the invite design for Mediaeval Masquerade is very detailed and so suits the additional space for the design to rest in. The hand-stitched letters with the little crowns measure apprx. 180mm x 30mm and so would sit very cramped together in a smaller invitation.

Alterations to the front wording from 'An Invitation to the Wedding of Lorna and David' are exchanged for 'An Evening Invitation'.
Many customers favour the simple 2d invitation featured in 'Classic Scottish' for evening guests, as it is attractive but also much cheaper in cost. We can alter them to whatever palette you favour. Different coloured ribbons, background card and insert paper can all be used.
We recognise the importance of colour for your special day and go out of our way to source materials solely appropriate for your wedding theme. You may be attracted to our discreet and delicate invitations, with an emphasis on soft pearlised colours, or you may be more drawn to strong and vibrant designs using highly saturated colours and unusual textures.
Our invites are often very detailed thus demanding many hours of painstaking labour. We use only the highest quality of materials and our attention to detail is paramount. Due to our invitations handmade nature, variations can occur, this however is a unique attribute to our creations. Even flower petals from the gardens that surround the studio are sometimes used.
From etiquette we learn that invites are traditionally sent 6 weeks before the wedding. However most couples today prefer to send them out 8-12 weeks before, thus allowing more notice for guest from overseas. Paper Blossom will always endeavour to meet your deadline if reasonable notice has been given to the studio. A minimum of 12 weeks notice is preferred for large orders, to allow for the ordering of more unusual materials etc. However we never like to turn potential customers away so please contact the studio if your wedding is sooner and we do our very best to fulfil your request.
We have examples of wording that we can send out to help you decide the wording of the insert, whether it be formal or informal. If you would like us to include your own special wording instead of the standard we are happy to do so. We can also print your wording in other selected languages such as French, Spanish etc.
We work with a variety of different font styles From classic and lavish to modern and lively.
The photographs show wedding invitations but each design is available as an evening invitation and order of service as well. Each invite has a complete matching range of table stationery so your theme can be continued with vigour, style and flair.
