Visits to the studio are welcomed. However please always make an appointment. Consultations can take place Monday - to Friday, 9am to 7.30pm. We are also flexible about meeting our customers on a Saturday or Sunday. |
Lanark is in the central belt of Scotland. Although beautifully situated in the country, it is only 45 minutes from Glasgow and just over an hour from Edinburgh. Many customers make a day-out of their visit and visit the stunning waterfalls of the New Lanark Heritage site. Some brides also book an appointment with the well renowned wedding cake company Jenny's Cakes, which is situated just fifteen minutes from the Paper Blossom studio along the Clyde Valley route heading back to Glasgow. Lanark, being fairly central, can be approached from several directions. Most drivers arrive in Lanark at the bottom of the High Street. Approaching Lanark from the Glasgow side, please take note of the following detailed directions: Once in the high street of Lanark please stay in the right hand lane of the traffic, taking the fork to the right at the traffic lights at the top of the high street. This will take you up past Lanark train station. Keep following the road, and at the roundabout take a right onto Hyndford Road. (At this point it will also be signposted New Lanark). Follow this straight road down the hill for a minute and take a sharp left bend onto Braxfield Road (the first road sign says Wellgate) but it quickly becomes Braxfield Road. Go past Guschet Place on the left and pass the old school wall on the left. Go past around 5 houses on either side of the road, slowing as soon as you see a red letterbox sunken in to the wall on the left hand side. The studio is located within a private residence so look out for the white gates on the right hand side with the house name BRIERYBANK no. 24. Well done- you have arrived! All that is left to do is to come down the drive, have a cup of tea and view the wedding stationery. |
Paper Blossom was set up by Fiona McCay, a qualified textile designer, in 2002. Operating initially from a base in Edinburgh, Fiona moved to Lanark in 2003, and converted a victorian laundry room into a design studio. The studio is within easy reach of Glasgow and Edinburgh, based in central scotland, UK.
